At LUKKA Icelandic Horses you will meet Petra, Rodney and their sons Jens and Lucas.

Petra has been involved with horses since early childhood and when she emigrated to New Zealand brought with her her gelding Romur fra Steoja. He was the first Icelandic Horse ever in this country! Petra's love for horses and Icelandic Horses in particular determined her choice of occupation. She has been a vet for nearly 20 years with a special interest in Animal Behaviour.

Rodney got involved with Icelandic Horses when he met Petra and soon followed her passion for this legendary breed.

Open Day 12th February 2006

Our open day on 12th February was a great success with many visitors experiencing our Icelandic Horses first-hand, mingling with the horses, riding the famous tölt, and viewing books and videos about this magnificent breed. Thank you to all you visited and helped on the day.
